These threads are great. We are so damn lucky to to have the archive and this wonderful community of passionate people. The guy who posted about being glad he could take his kids to see some of the originals trying hard to keep the spirit and the music alive was spot on. It has been wonderful. All 3 of my kids are heads and being able to take them to see something, anything has been huge. They know so much more about music because of this exposure. Plus I can play the dead anytime and they just sing along! Taking them to see and marvel at Dead and Co play Mountains of the Moon was just awesome. I had no expectation whatsoever that it would be like 69 so I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed myself enormously. I still do.

First time poster, long time listener. My daughter and I went to 3 east coast shows on the 2018 summer tour. It was a great time. It's kind of like "no one's noticed but the band's all packed and gone". The scene still remains. I got a kick out of some of the sayings on tee shirts. 2 of my favorites were:
Your Bobby is a Wonderland
Mayer is Dead to me

That Mayer one is too good...for a hater or a lover, it's just perfect.
